Saoirse Ronan performed a song about sexual harassment on Saturday Night Live

It’s definitely not like whatever you’re expecting it to be.

LAST NIGHT SAOIRSE Ronan got to host US sketch show Saturday night Live.

In her opening monologue, she tried to help American viewers become acquainted with the correct pronunciation of her Irish forename.

She did so by performing a short song she uses to help anyone outside of Ireland get to grips with the name ‘Saoirse’ (which, as far as Irish names go, definitely isn’t the hardrest to grasp. E.g. Sadhbh).

The 23-year-old didn’t stop singing after the monologue.

“This ain’t a girl group, we just travel together for safety.”

Alongside SNL cast members Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong, Saoirse took part in a music video where they all sang about sexual harassment. The video looks like Meghan Trainor and Katy Perry had a terrible child and then someone gave the kid full creative control, but that’s the point.

Titled ‘Welcome To Hell’, Saoirse sings this line (among several others):

Now House of Cards is ruined and that really sucks… Well, here’s a list of stuff that’s ruined for us: parking and walking and Uber and ponytails, bathrobes and nighttime and drinking in hotels.

With her Valley Girls accent, it’s definitely not the Saoirse Ronan we’re used to seeing.

Saoirse also took part in a sketch where survivors of a gas explosion were interviewed on the news.

In another sketch, she plays a lesbian named Jacqueline who isn’t having a bar of an annoying student that interrupts her class.

Ronan made cameo appearances in several other sketches over the course of the evening.

At the end of the show, she held hands with U2′s The Edge as she thanked viewers, U2, Alec Baldwin and others for watching the show.
